This is so sad. Everyday we humans are showing how evil and sadistic we are. What pleasure would you get from doing things like this. It is just plain stupid, and cruel. According to the article below, Animal Cruelty law in China is almost non-existent. Why am I not surprised by that...why?

We should be ashamed of ourselves and we should not be called the human species that evolved.

Why Us?

Above pictures courtesy of "Mercy For Animals" Facebook page.

How can you separate me from my mother? How can you bring yourself to torture me and murder me? All this so that you can act selfish and enjoy my flesh for an hour. And then your forget me :(..WHY? Don't I deserve the sunlight as you do? Don't I deserve love, and care from my family, like you all do? Don't I deserve to play with my friends? Don't I deserve simple pleasures in this life, like you all do? I do get hurt and feel a lot of pain. I feel lost without my mother and family. I don't get to see beautiful sunshine, blue skies, and fresh water. Why would you make me suffer? Is my pain, suffering and death, worth your few minutes of pleasure? This beautiful planet also belongs to me and we do deserve some happiness. Please stop murdering and eating my friends and family. We want to live our full life, full of smiles and happiness. Please give us some peace! Please!

According to Mercy For Animals website, "Pigs are believed to be as intelligent as 3-year-old children and at least as intelligent as dogs, capable of learning hand signals corresponding to words, and understanding complex relationships".

Would you eat a 3 year old innocent child? If not, then why these poor, innocent animals?

Please have mercy for these innocent animals.

Alba Botanica- Treat Yourself With Love and Not With Cruelty

I became vegetarian to fight against animal cruelty one year ago. I am still going strong! I also make sure that I use beauty products, which are not tested on animals. Alba Botanica is such company that does not test their products on animals, and all their product ingredients are not tested on animals.

I use two of their products, which I LOVE. I bought both of them from Whole Foods Market.

Excited!- NYC Vegetarian Festival- April 3 , 2011

We are so looking forward to the Vegetarian festival in NYC on April 3, 2011 (SUNDAY). Checkout the website of the event! The event is Free from 10:00 AM to 6 PM

Address: The Altman Building
135 West 18th Street (Between 6th and 7th Avenues)

See You All There!

UPDATE: I was surprised to see so many people at the festival. I had to wait 3 hours in the line to get into building. I was so happy to see that people were there for a cause and not for "free-food". This was the first festival of such kind, and I wish and pray that there will be many more. This will generate more exposure among people.
Inside the building, there were organizations, and food vendors showcasing vegetarian and vegan food products. And let me tell you, the vegan food we tasted was so delicious. We bought a lot of things, learned about new organization, and felt so happy that we were not alone. There are so many people and organizations, which have similar goals as ours. I wish I lived in NYC, because there are so many things to get involved with. One day soon!

Amani's Veggie Garden- Best Vegan Food Ever!in South Jersey!

Ever since me and my husband became vegetarian, we been looking for restaurants which offer great vegetarian options. One of my co-workes, whose two grown-up sons (24 and 18 years old) are vegan, recommended to try this vegetarian/vegan restaurant. I was hesitant in the begining because I was worried if I tried something vegan and if I don't like it, I will be very disappointed. I am not vegan yet, but I buy (@ Wholefoods) all organic milk and cheese, and buy cage free eggs, which I try not to eat a lot.

So last week, we went to this place. There is no seating but a picnic bench right outside the restaurant. The menu is big, tons of options. I order Chicken Cheese Steak with jalapenos, and my husband ordered General Tso's Chicken. We sat at the picnic table and ate our dinner. Let me tell you, I kept telling my husband that General Tso's Chicken taste and feel like real chicken. I even said to my husband that the restaurant is feeding us chicken. The dish was really good with brown rice and broccoli. My husband loved the chicken cheese steak as well. All in all, it was delicious! I recommend this place! I can't wait to go back and try there chicken wings.
